Lapis lazuli, one of the most beautiful gems in the world.

Lapis lazuli is a semi-precious ultramarine blue gem highly valued in jewelry since ancient times.

In the Middle Ages, lapis lazuli powder was used to obtain a highly sought-after pigment by painters of the time. In the Renaissance, Da Vinci, Dürer and Fra Angelico were some of the painters who brought it to life, calling it "blue gold". At that time the price of this gem was four times higher than gold.

Its intense blue color is considered a symbol of purity, health, luck and nobility, hence the Egyptians used it for funeral dressings and masks.
